ANOTHER BIRON DAM VICTIM.
Emile Lietzke Goes Over the Dam and
Drowns Sunday.
The Biron dam seems to have a fatal
fascination for fishermen and every year
the treacherous waters there take their
toll of death from the visitors who with
rod and line throng the waters of the
old Wisconse at this point.
On Sunday last Emll Lietzke, the
25-year-old son of August Lietzke, who
has a big farm two miles east of Vesper,
went to Biron accompanied by his cousin,
Emil Beeler and two other young men
one of whom is named F. Vogel. They
were fishing above the dam, young
Lietzke in a boat by himself. He drop-
ped his fish pole in the water and it
floated off toward the dam. He picked
up his oars and rowed after it. He was
soon caught in the swift water that flow-
ed over or through the "needles" as they
are called and in spite of his strenuous
efforts he was carried over the dam, los-
ing his hold on the boat as he went over
and that is the last that was seen of the
young man....

Emil Lietzke's Body Found.
Ernest Gillmaster, Will Plowman and
Geo. King, who had been searching the
river for the remains of Emil Lietzke, who
was drowned at the Biron dam a week
ago Sunday, discovered the body floating
in the water about 20 rods below the
point where he was drowned at 11
o'clock on Monday forenoon....
