Death of John Feehan

Last Friday evening as John Feehan got up from the supper table his pipe was seen to drop out of his mouth. He walked down from the dining room to the parlor and sat down on a chair. Then when spoken to was unable to answer. The family then lifted him off the chair on to a lounge and called a doctor who could do nothing for him. They lay him on his right side and he gradually failed until ten minutes to 4 o'clock Tuesday morning when he passed away. He died easily without a move or struggle.

The funeral took place Thursday morning of this week at the Catholic church, Rev. Father Murray officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Blooming Prairie cemetery.

John Feehan was born in county Limerick, Ireland, and would be 75 years of age April 3d, next. When a young man he came to the United States to Waupun, Wis. Thirty-eight years ago he came to Steele county where he has since made his home. He always enjoyed good health. He never had a doctor in his life until his last illness. He was a good citizen and neighbor. A kind man to his family and highly respected by all who knew him. He has gone to his rest and reward sincerely mourned.

He leaves a wife and and the following grown up sons and daughters: Mrs. James Cummings and Mrs. J. C. Guthrie, of this village; John M. Feehan, who lives on a farm in Aurora; Thomas Feehan, of Superior, Wis., Margaret Feehan, of St. Paul; Kate Feehan, of Duluth, and Sarah and Lucy, at home.

The sorrowing relatives have the sympathy of many friends. Thomas arrived here Tuesday noon, Margaret and Kate arrived here Saturday night, Mrs. Jerry Sullivan, a sister of Mrs. John Feehan, arrived here Tuesday night. Mrs. Pat Boyle and Mrs. Bernard McGinn, of Owatonna, came here to visit the bereaved family Wednesday.
