Colton Lenard Fink June 15, 1995 ~ Jan. 17, 2011 Resident of Oakley Colton Fink died in Oakley, California, at the much too young age of 15 years old. He was deep and soulful young man whose troubled heart led him to leave us in the dawn of his life. Colton is survived by his loving parents, Antoinette Barrett and John Fink; his faithful brother Connor; sister Chelsea and his loyal dog, Bowser. He is survived by his grandmothers Carol Barrett and Phyllis Fink. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers John D. Barrett and Lenard Fink. He is survived by many caring aunts and uncles and cousins who will miss him greatly. On his mother's side is Ann Barrett (husband Pete Coney and daughters Kelsey and Claire), Jennie Gisslow (husband Peter and son Blaise), John Barrett Jr. (wife Marian and their children Julienne, Cameron, Mason and Adam), and Amy Marson (husband Ken and sons Jesse and Parker). On his father's side the surviving siblings are Tom Fink, Ron Fink, Lenda Goulding, Michelle Pich‚ Carlson, Kristine Bent, David Fink, Tom Fink, Megan Means and Peter Fink, and many, many cousins. Colton was born and lived in Oakley, California. His early years were filled with following his older brother Connor everywhere. His boyhood was filled with imaginative games, acrobatic trampoline stunts, sword fighting, wrestling, building elaborate Lego structures, and picking strawberries with his mom. His current favorite pastimes were mixed martial arts, biking, running, watching movies with his Dad and playing video games. He loved peanut butter spoons. His latest interest was making super-sized protein drinks and working out with his friends. He loved rock music, and became very adept at playing the guitar, and specialized in improvisational riffs. He aspired to be a musician, professional fighter and mathematician. Colton was above all else insightful; he had a brilliant mind, and treasured his friends and family. This poem comes from an old country Irish relative: "Let us love one another. Not long may we stay in this bleak world of mourning. Some droop while 'tis day. Others fade in their noon, and a few linger to eve. Oh there breaks not a heart, but leaves someone to grieve. And the fondest, the purest, and the truest that met have still found the need to forgive and forget. Then Oh! Though the hope that we cherished, decay. Let us love one another as long as we stay." A Memorial Service will be held in the multi-purpose room at Freedom High School, 1050 Neroly Road, Brentwood, CA from 11am-2pm on Sat., Jan. 22. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Colton Fink Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank.
