Daughter of Jonathan and Laduska Payne, Susie married Newport Beaver at Cadron, Faulkner County, Arkansas in 1878. They became parents to five children: Walter, Birt, Cora, Homer, and Dora. Her husband Newport died in July, 1899. Following her widowhood, she lived in the homes of one or another of her children.
