At about 8:00 P.M. Nov.28,1977 Jo Anna left her family home in Belmont Ohio, to run some errands. She was not seen again until her body was found at about 4:30 P.M. Dec.31, 1977 at Dallas Pike WV.

She was a 1974 graduate of Union Local High School, in Morristown Ohio. She was a beautiful, popular student, a member of the cheerleading squad. She attended Belmont Technical School, and Jefferson Technical School.

She was a volunteer worker at Barnesville Hospital, in Barnesville Ohio. She also worked in the records office at Martins Ferry Hospital, in Martins Ferry Ohio.

She was the daughter of Kirk and Nell (Bohandy) Boughner.

In addition to her parents, her memory is cherished by her brother, Kent Boughner, and sisters, Vicki (Boughner) Loveday, and Becky Boughner.

Her paternal grandparents were the late Cecil and Lillie (Kirk) Boughner. Her maternal grandparents were the late Albert and Amone Bohandy.

Cause of death: Strangulation; Her family has always felt the wrong man was convicted.
