Born to Hunter Joseph Anderson Sr. and Josephine Jackson, and was raised in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Hunter had an uncanny passion for life and relished in educating himself through life's experiences. After graduating high school Hunter enlisted with the United States Armed Services and served his country with the Navy from 1972 to 1978. With a genuine love for people, a passion for his family and a heart of God his journey shaped the legacy he leaves for each of his loved ones. Throughout his life Hunter had a love of God and trusted Him however several years ago he rededicated himself unto the Lord and developed a personal relationship with God. This created in Hunter a new being, one who lived for the Saviour and shared the gospel. Hunter had an unprecedented love of family and exhibited this generously.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Josephine Jackson; brother-in-law, John Howard Jackson; and the love of his life, his wife, Teresa A. Anderson.

Remaining to keep alive Hunter's memory are his children, Tracey West Hamilton and his cherished daughters, Andrea Anderson Bryant, Josette Anderson and Melvanda Sistrunk; his loving sons-in-law, Joseph Bryant and Ahmad Sistrunk; sister, Curley Haliburtion; nieces, Nakomis Haliburton and Shanika Cochran; and his adored grandchildren, Mahogany Franklin, Majestii Bryant, Emajin Bryant, Laia Anderson, Gabriel Eley, Christian Bryant, Chase Eley and Etalia Bryant, along with a host of friends and loved ones.

Memorial Services were held at The Hilton Garden Inn located at 1793 Richmond Rd, Charlottesville, VA.
