Lyndell McLean Armstrong of Louisa died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at University of Virginia Medical Center.

Born in Charlottesville December 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Clement Arnold Armstrong and Ruth May Manuel Armstrong. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Paige Armstrong.

Lyndell was District Manager for IBM and worked in telecommunications with Siemens. He graduated from Albemarle High School and was a member of the Lions Club and the Army National Guard.

Survivors include his wife Gwin M. Armstrong of Louisa; a daughter, Deborah Armstong Lynch of Louisa; a son, Vince Armstrong and his wife, Bonnie, of Ruckersville; a brother, Arnold Armstrong and his wife, Betty, and their daughter, Angela; seven grandchildren, Tara, Josh, Justin, Devon, Phillip, Wyatt, Cesalea; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Carol and her husband, Dickie Hoff, and Margaret Carroll and her husband, Earl, and a niece, Vickie Keho and her husband, Bob.

A graveside funeral service was held Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Holly Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Sidney Craig officiating.
