Jane Elizabeth Banks, 82, of Stanardsville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at her residence.

She was born June 16, 1927, in Stanardsville, the daughter of the late Willie Edward Graves and Bertha Mallory Graves and wife of the late Nathaniel Banks. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Agnes Early, Mittie Williams, and Ethel Williams.

Mrs. Banks was a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Stanardsville and a member of Greene County Senior Citizens Center.

Mrs. Banks is survived by two daughters, Brenda Banks Anderson and her husband, James, of Madison, and Sylvia Darlene Banks and Scotty Wells; a son, Nathaniel Keith Banks; a sister, Bernice Virginia Herndon and her husband, Albert, all of Stanardsville; brothers-in-law, Journey Williams and Stark Williams, both of Ruckersville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; senior citizens family; special friends, Mabel Hedges, Gloria Taylor, and Harry Brock; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Stanardsville with interment in the church cemetery.

Preddy Funeral Home, Madison, is in charge of arrangements.
