Cleo Browning
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Peace Presbyterian Church for Cleo M. Browning of Eugene, who died July 26 of stroke-related causes. She was 88.
She was born Nov. 1, 1923, in Ontario to Floyd and Eva Blackburn Embree. She married Charley Browning on June 13, 1943, in Ontario.
She graduated from Ontario High School and attended Colorado Women's College and Monmouth College. She was an administrative assistant throughout Washington and Oregon, including at Lane County Circuit Court.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Robert of Eugene and Thomas of Cave Creek, Ariz.; a daughter, Debby Libby of Eugene; a brother, James Embree of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A son, Richard, died previously.
