He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife and four children, Pauline, Orville, Albert and Beuna, relatives and many friends who will miss him very much from this life.
He was married to Miss Lula Davis on October 26, 1902. They have made Durham their home for the past twenty-two years.
He was a respectable citizen, a kind husband and father, a neighbor and friend willing to do all he could in time of need. Little did we think of his passing so soon. Only a few days of suffering at home and at the hospital with malignant erysipelas and he passed in peace. A few years ago he gave his live to the service of the Master and was buried with Him in baptism, so we "sorrow not as those who have no hope.'
A large concourse of people came to the Durham auditorium to pay the last sad rite and a bank of flowers spoke their language of love.
The body was laid to rest in the Fairview cemetery to await the Resurrection morn.
Ou heartfelt sympathy goes to the family in their sore trial and distress.

J.W. Bell of Durham Died Tues. Morning
The Durham community was greatly shocked Tuesday to learn of the death of J.W.Bell who had been ill but a few days. Mr. Bell stuck a thorn in his throat Friday and erysipelas soon set in. He was taken to the Standifer hospital in Elk City where everything possible was done in an effort to check the spread of the poison, but with no success.
Mr. Bell was one of the old timers, of the Durham country and one of its most highly respected citizens.
