Dan F. Quiett 63, Wausau, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at North Central Health Care Facilities under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born July 18, 1949 in Dallas, Tex., son of the late George and Leota (Raspberry) Quiett. On June 5, 1982, he married Mary Cummings in Lake Ozark, Mo. She survives. Dan was a veteran of the United States Navy and served for six years during Vietnam as an engine mechanic on P-3 Orion Aircraft. He worked as a corporate pilot and most recently, worked for Phillips Plastics Corporation in Phillips, Wis. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed deer hunting, golfing and was an avid skeet shooter. Survivors include, his wife, Mary Quiett, Wausau; three children, Jessica (Ryan) Bridges, Lake Ozark, Mo., Kimberly Quiett, Houston, Tex. and Danny Quiett, Eau Claire; two grandchildren, Elanor and Nicholas Bridges; his mother-in-law, Carol (Bill) Bassett, Lake Ozark, Mo.; two sisters, Charlotte Clark, El Centro, Cal. and Dusty (David) Pressel, Houston, Tex.; and one sister-in-law, Ginger (Rick) Moore, California, Mo. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jess Cummings. Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, Rib Mountain. Rev. Craig Swenson will officiate. Friends may call on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until time of services at the church. Memorials may be directed to Saint Andrew Lutheran Church or directly to Dan's family to be donated for future cancer research.
