Pvt. Albert was killed in action in the hedgerows area of Normandy.

He graduated from Manual Training High School class of 1938, and was employed at the Alwan Grocery of Peoria prior to enlisting on October 10, 1942, and did his training at Fort Sheridan, Illinois.

Besides his parents, he leaves four sisters, Mrs. May {Buford} Sands, Miss Cecelia, Miss Annie, and Miss Bernadine Albert, all of Peoria. His brother Marcus, was killed in action on October 27, 1944 while serving in the Philippines.
