Pvt. Albert was killed in action while serving on Leyte in the Philippines while serving with the 6th Army under General John R. Hodge.

He is the son of Mr. Joseph & Mrs. Catherine John Albert of Peoria, Illinois. Pvt. Albert is a 1943 graduate of Manual Training H.S., and was employed as a loader at Hayes Freight Co. of Peoria before he enlisted on November 10, 1943, and he did his training at Camp Grant, Illinois.

Beside his parents, he leaves four sisters, Mrs. May Sands, Miss Cecelia, Miss Annie, and Miss Bernadine Albert, all of Peoria. His brother Mike was killed in Europe on July 16, 1944.
