Carson was the son of the late Adell Davis Goings and Ollen Goings. He is preceded by his youngest son,William Carson Goings. Survived by daughters: Mary DeLoise Dixon,Barbara Lee McCollough(passed 30 December 2004) and Elder Cora Lee Goings Frink; one son, James Franklin Williams, 10 Grandchildren, and 11 Great-Grandchildren.
He passed as a result of a stroke and Obstructive Lung Disorder.

The funeral was conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2001, in Robinson Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Jackie Williams. Burial was in Sandhills Cemetery.
Mr. Goings is survived by his wife, Dorothy W. Goings of the home; three daughters, Barbara McCollough, Pastor Cora Goings of Salemburg and Mary Dixon of the home; a son, James Williams of Clinton; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The public was received Saturday, July 14, 2001 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
