Bernice Clarkson, 84, of LaPlata died Wednesday afternoon (August 29, 1979) at 4:15 in the LaPlata Nursing Home where she had been a patient four years.
The daughter of Aden F. and Lottie Belle Ammerman Rummerfield, she was born on April 14, 1895 in Schuyler county. She was married to Virgil Epperson who preceded her in death in 1922. On July 4, 1924 she was married to Ralph Clarkson who preceded her in death on September 3, 1977. Also preceding her in death were three sisters, one brother, one son, one daughter, one grandson and one great-grandson.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Lola) Samuelson of Minonk, Ill., Mrs. Richard (Cleeta) Steidel of Stateline, Ind. and Lois Murfin of Liberty; one sister, Mrs. Lando (Beulah) Brewer of Kirksville; two brothers, Boyd Rummerfield of Overland Park, Kan. and Lowell Rummerfield of North Bend, Ore.; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Clarkson was reared in Schuyler county. Later she lived on farms in Adair and Macon counties before moving to LaPlata.
She was a member of the LaPlata Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon (August 31, 1979) at 1:30 in the chapel of the Foster Memorial Home. The Rev. Orville Shriver of LaPlata will conduct the services. Burial will be in the LaPlata cemetery.
Bearers will be her grandsons.
