Spc. Brian M. Anderson, 24, of Harrisonburg, Va., died June 12 in Za Khel, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his vehicle using an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y. Bucky was preceded in death by his grandparents Loretta and Harry Kenneth Anderson Sr., and Uncle Jim Buck Helsley. Bucky is survived by his father, Harry Kenneth Anderson Jr. (Kenny)and mother Margaret Anderson,of Broadway; sister, Jenny Rebecca Anderson of Christiansburg, VA; brother, Kenneth Daniel Anderson (Andy) of Broadway; grandmother Edna Kibler of Moorefield, WV; Aunt Carolyn Helsley of Edinburg; Aunt Debbie Anderson and Uncle Renny Anderson of Charlotte, NC.
