Rev. Jacob Hoogland, aged 86, went to be with his Lord late Sunday afternoon. Surviving are his wife, Dorothea A. Hoogland; his children, Helen Meulink of Ripon, CA, Ann Hoogland of River Forest, IL, Rev. John (Col. U.S. Army) and Alma Hoogland of Oceanport, NJ, Rev Marvin and Thelma Hoogland of Oak Forest, IL, Bernard and Helen Hoogland of Grand Rapids, Nella and Eric Uitvlugt of Grand Rapids, Dr. Ruth and Bernard DeHoog of Gainesville, FL, Drs. Esther and James Rehmus of Shaker Heights, OH, William and Grace Hoogland of Grand Rapids, Dorothy and Joost Verkerk of New Brunswick, NJ, Mary Hoogland of Grand Rapids; 19 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; two brothers, Frank and Margaret Hoogland of Zeeland, James and Jennie Hoogland of Grangeville, ID; sister, Alice Kimm of Manhattan, MT; sister-in-law, Johanna TenBroek of Grand Rapids.
Services will be held Wednesday morning 10:30 at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will be at the chapel Monday 7 to 9, Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Those desiring may send memorial contributions to the Christian Education Fund of Boston Square Christian Reformed Church.

Anna (Schuurmans) Hoogland died November 20, 1946, at the young age of 46, leaving her beloved husband and four teen-agers. Rev. Jacob remarried in 1948 to Dorothea Einink and had seven more children.
