Funeral services for Jennie (Verwolf) DeBoer, 96, were held Friday, October 29, 1993, at Corsica Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Al VanDellen officiating. Interment followed at Graceland Cemetery, Corsica.

Casket bearers were Al "Butch" VanEssen, Justin Steckelberg, Victor DeBoer, Troy Heinert, Donn DeBoer and Ty Talsma. Organist was Joyce Star and vocal music was provided by the George DeBoer family. The vocal accompanist was Leone DeBoer.

Jennie Verwolf was born July 20, 1897, in Douglas County to Joe and Elizabeth (Meyer) Verwolf. She grew up and attended country school in Douglas County.

She married Barney DeBoer October 20, 1915, at Manhattan, Montana. They moved to Corsica in 1920 and in 1936 bought Corsica Hatchery, which they ran until they retired in 1963. Barney died December 17, 1967. Jennie spent the last 20 years at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in Corsica. She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church, Ladies Aid and Dorcas Society. She died at Pleasant View Tuesday, October 26, 1993.

She is survived by her children: Anne Murray of Grandville, Michigan, Sam DeBoer of Manhattan, Montana, Joanne Bettenhausen of Kentwood, Michigan, George DeBoer of Chamberlain, Alvin DeBoer of Elko, Nevada, Lyle DeBoer of Marne, Michigan; 25 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, a daughter, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, five brothers and four sisters.
