Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2002 at Coffelt's Moon Chapel with Pastor Jon Pomeroy from the First Church of God officiating.

Joan was born on November 9, 1929 in Manhattan, Mont., the daughter of Peter and Selia (VanDenBerg) Verwolf. Her family moved to South Dakota for a few years, returning to the West Sagle area where Joan attended various country schools.

Her family moved to a farm on what is now Gooby Road and from there Joan attended schools in Sandpoint and in 1947 graduated from Sandpoint High School. She met and later married Al Cramer on April 30, 1949 in Sandpoint. They settled in Missoula, Mont., where they started their family, having five boys and one girl.

The family moved to Alaska when Joan's husband was transferred to Fairbanks. The family lived there until Al's retirement in 1974. Joan and Al returned to Sandpoint and made their home on Gooby Road where they lived out the rest of their lives.

Joan enjoyed knitting and crocheting, playing the piano and singing, and bragging about her kids and grandkids to whomever would listen. She was very proud of her family. Joan was a member of the First Church of God in Sandpoint, and was the Sunday School Secretary/Treasurer for many years.

She is survived by five sons, Ron (Trish) Cramer, Fairbanks, Alaska, Gary (Kathy) Cramer, Olympia, Wash., Mike (Lauren) Cramer, Sandpoint, Allan (Jil) Cramer, Sandpoint, Bob (Kasandra) Cramer, Priest River, Idaho; 17 grandchildren; a brother, Stub (Esther) Verwolf, Dover, Idaho; a sister, Snip Murchison, Smelterville, Idaho.
