Mr. Goss received a B.S. in Business Management from University of Colorado in 1960 and a J.D. from University of Michigan in 1963. He was admitted to the Colorado Bar in September of 1963 and practiced law until the day he died.
Mr. Goss served in the Navy from 1953-1958 as a carrier pilot, and saw the world - Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, and many other places. He flew a radar plane that tracked the Chinese response to American sorties in their air space. He nearly perished a couple of times; once when his engine stalled and another when an Air Force plane nearly collided with his plane. After leaving active duty, Mr. Goss entered naval intelligence as a reserve officer.
Mr. Goss had a strong faith in God, and followed the Lord's mandates of unselfish love and truth to self and others. He was a charitable, generous man and active in the community. He served 22 years on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Skating Club, serving as vice-president for six consecutive terms from 1980-1986, and as president for the 1986-1987 term. Prior to 1980, he was president of the Alpine Skating Club, and was instrumental in the organization of the Mile High Figure Skating Association, serving on its Board of Directors as well. He was also active in the Colorado branch of the National Kidney Foundation.
Mr. Goss is survived by his former wife, Georgia Goss, of Bangor, Maine; his daughter, Kristin Goss, and son-in-law, Grant Williams, of Arlington, Virginia; his son, David, and daughter-in-law, Heather, and their children, Kaela Rose Goss and Brenna Eileen Goss, of Clarendon Hills, Illinois; his brother William Goss and sister-in-law Wanda Goss, of Grand Junction; his brother Richard Goss and sister-in-law Shirley Goss, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; his sister Zeta Graham, of Gunnison, Colorado; and his sister Betty Shearer and brother-in-law Jack Shearer of Glendive, Montana.
