John married Wilma McBride on June 24, 1939 in Meeker, Colorado. He realized his dream of being a cowpuncher and was known in the area as being one of the best. He and Wilma purchased the Cuddy Ranch from his parents, Thomas and Sara Goss Cuddy in the fall of 1939. Two children came to bless their home, Tom and Jonette. The ranch was sold in 1976 but he always had his saddle ready and often helped neighboring ranchers for many years.
In his later years, he enjoyed working in the yard and was a fan of the Denver Broncos.
John was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and a nephew. He leaves behind his wife, Wilma; son, Tom Cuddy and daughter-in-law, Sondra of Mesa, AZ; a daughter, Jonette Reed and son-in-law, Bert of Roseburg, OR; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two nephews.
The family mourns his passing but will always hold dear the memories that our loving "pa", "daddy" and "granddad" gave to each of us.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2001 at the Fruita Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastors Elmer Hagele and Mike Kissner officiating. Burial will follow in New Elmwood Cemetery, Fruita.
