Second son born to Abraham and Catherine Monnette. A man of good character, and sound moral beliefs. Married to Mary Etta Raymor of Dallas Township. More like his brother Ephriam, Oliver was prudent with money and careful with his accounts. Unlike his younger brothers, he shunned investment in banks, which helps him retain more of his inheritance. When his health and the health of his wife began to fail, they moved to Marion, Ohio. Father of five, three of his children died under tragic circumstances, two at a young age. He was the second of his brothers and sisters to die and was the first male of seven brothers to die in his family. Survived by son Charles, daughter Millie, and Emma.

NOTE: While the family marker spells out the name as Monnette, Oliver never used that spelling in legal adulthood. Because his individual marker is without a surname, the memorial uses his legal surname spelling of MONNETT.
