George W. Oliver, 55 of 1507 Miller Street, died Sunday in Port Huron Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Oliver was a resident of Port Huron since 1938. He was born Oct. 20, 1905 in Wooton, KY.
He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Stanley Lash, Marysville; six sons, Jack, Bruce, Walter, Paul, Sylvester and George W. Oliver Jr., all of Port Huron; 13 grandchildren; tow brothers, Neumann P. Oliver and Fillmore Cornette, both of Port Huron; a sister Mrs. Frank Peak, South Port, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.
The remains are in the Arthur Smith Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday by Harold E. Hawley, a pastor of the Church of Christ.
Dean F. Taylor, Richard Taylor, Henry Taylor Jr. and Vern Sweet, all of Port Huron; Grover Baker, Hamilton, O. and Stanley Lash, Marysville will be pallbearers.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
