Sister Julianne Armstrong, R.S.H.M., who served at Marymount ministries in Tarrytown for most of her 75 years as a nun, died Jan. 18 at Marymount Convent. She was 97.
She served at Marymount School, Marymount College and Marymount Convent, all in Tarrytown, where she worked on retreats and with the Marriage and Engagement Encounters. She also served at Marymount School in Manhattan and in Rolling Meadows, Ill.
Born in County Sligo, Ireland, she entered the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary in France in 1933. She professed final vows in 1940.
A Funeral Mass was offered Jan. 21 at Marymount Convent, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery in White Plains.
