Organized at Camp William Penn, near Philadelphia, Pa., August 3-10, 1863. Unit mustered out October 31, 1865.

David Chandler, aged 84, and one of the best know old soldier colored citizens, is dead after a long illness. He had lived with his daughter, Mrs. Belle Miller on East 8th Street for some time, and in his younger days was quite well known in politics. Some 20 years ago Chandler was a candidate for city councilman in the first ward and received quite a complimentary vote. The wife is dead, and the mourning children are Mrs. Samuel Tucker, Belle Miller, Thomas, Lonie and John Chandler. The deceased was an Odd Fellow and a leading Bethel Church member. He was a member of the Grand Army and will be given a soldier burial in charge of the Odd Fellows, Rev. Moorman, pastor of Bethel, to preach the sermon.

All member of the I.O.O.F. requested to meet at Hall at eight o'clock for arrangements for funeral of Bro. David Chandler.
