Mitzi R. Putney, 50, of Lombard, Ill, formerly of Charles City, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at home with her family at her side.

Funeral services for Mitzi Putney will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home. Sr. Diana Blong will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday where there will be a Scriptural Prayer Service at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday an hour prior to the service.

Mitzi Rae Johnson Putney was born June 16, 1961, at Charles City, the daughter of Laverne "John" and Virginia (Sullivan) Johnson. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1979. On June 18, 1983, she was united in marriage to Anthony Putney. To this union four children were born. The couple lived in Charles City for five years before moving to Illinois. Mitzi loved to bowl with her family and friends before she became ill. Other interests included working crossword puzzles, reading and spending time with family and friends. Mitzi always looked forward to sharing her life with her family especially her granddaughter, Harlow.

Living family members include her husband, Anthony of Lombard, Ill; four children, Amber (Ryan) Putney of Wells, Minn., Adam (Maria) Putney of Bolingbrook, Ill, Allen (Nikki) Putney of Big Rock, Ill and Ashlee Putney of Lombard, Ill; her father Laverne "John" and step mother, Florene Johnson of Charles City; a granddaughter, Harlow Putney; her twin brother, Mark (Lori) Johnson of Charles City; two sisters, Sheryl (David) Jeffrey of Charles City and Nancy (Bryan) Boggess of Ankeny; her mother-in-law, Victoria Putney of Charles City; brother-in-law, Francis (Patricia) Putney of Spring Grove, Ill; sister-in-law, Beverley (John) Chris Havens of Lake Geneva, Wisc; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Johnson; maternal grandparents, Ted and Tena Johnson; a brother, Robert Johnson in infancy; father-in-law, Alfred Putney; and step father, Darrell "Dean" Tynan.
