HIGHLAND — Ruth Archer Humphreys, 101, of Sharp County died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, in a Jonesboro hospital.

Born Oct. 16, 1904, in Mammoth Spring, she was the daughter of Granville McClelland Archer and Maggie Hull Archer. She lived most of her adult life in Memphis and the last 30 years in Sharp County. She was a lifelong Methodist.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Humphreys Tronsor; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Benton Edward Humphreys; a son, Thomas Edward Humphreys; her parents; and nine brothers and sisters.

A private funeral service will be held. Arrangements are by Heath Funeral Home Oak Hill Chapel in Highland.
