Zelphia "Pete" Aheron I, 72, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Minnie Lou Aheron; two sisters, Katherine Aheron Spencer and Marie Aheron Emerson; a granddaughter, Brindle Abigail Chitwood; and a niece.
Aheron attended Prillaman Baptist Church in Henry.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Brenda Spencer Aheron; two daughters, Janice Aheron Spangler and Lorie Aheron Hubbard; two sons, Donald Wayne Aheron and Zelphia "Pete" Aheron II; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Willie Aheron and Joseph Abner Aheron; and a sister, Pat Aheron Helms.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service in Rocky Mount.
The family will receive friends for one hour before the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
