Charles R. Ball, Jr.
The funeral for Charles R. Ball, Jr., 48, of Valley View Drive, Snellville, Ga., who died Oct. 28, 1994 at Gwinnett Medical Center, Lawrenceville, Ga., will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Collins Funeral Chapel, Bassett. Elder Paul Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in the Holley family cemetery in Henry.
Born March 5, 1946, in Martinsville, he was the son of Clemmie Holley Ball of Martinsville and the late Charles R. Ball, Sr.
A 1969 graduate of Virginia Tech, Ball was employed at AT&T of Washington State as a technical consultant with the McCaw Cellular Wireless Data Division.
He was a member of the Niagara Masonic Temple, the Inventors Club of America, the Society of Logistics Engineers, Information Systems Consulting Associate, Society for Technical Communication, and IEEE.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Wendy L. Ball of Snellville; one daughter, Angelia Karen Ball of Bent Mountain, Va; stepdaughter, Sheri Crowe of Snellville, one son, Anthony Todd Ball of Atlanta, Ga,; stepson, Timothy Crowe of Snellville; one sister, Elaine Green of Bassett; two brothers, Virgil Ball of Martinsville and Leonard Ball of Willenboro, N.J.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Collins Funeral Services in Bassett from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
