Keith Clifford Clausen, resident of Lake County for 59 years, beloved husband, father and friend passed away Oct 27, 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy (of almost 47 years); daughters, Ginger Savage, April Little; son, Craig; grandchildren, Adam, Sara, T.C., Kelsey, Samantha and Hunter; and great-grandchildren, Dylan and Darren.

Keith was born in southern California and moved to Lake County in the early 40s. Keith and his father Cliff opened the first boat business on Clear Lake in Clearlake Oaks. There after they opened Clausen's Boat and Motors in Lakeport. While helping his father run the business Keith attended Clear Lake High. There he played baseball, football and basketball and graduated in 1959.

He went to work with the Lake County Sheriff's Department in 1963. Keith worked his way through the ranks and attended the FBI academy in 1979. Keith retired from LCSO in 1993 as Under Sheriff.

Keith was active in the community in several organizations including the Clearlake Callayomi Masonic Lodge 183, where he was Master of the Lodge in 1979, Ammes Temple of Shriners, Scottish Rite, Order of Eastern Star Lower Lake 231, Clearlake Elks 2299, Lake County Amateur Radio Club (N6MMJ).

Keith had a deep devotion of anything outdoors. Fishing in lakes and in the ocean, hunting, camping and golfing.

He will be missed by his family and friends.

A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3 at Chapel of the Lakes.

Friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Chapel of the Lake in Lakeport, following will be a graveside service at Hartley Cemetery in Lakeport.
