Isaac was 1 of 13 children. Isaac's siblings were Enoch J, Levi, Catherine (Mundell), John, James, Susannah (Sutton), Hannah (Bonnell), Esther (Betson), Lydia (Wise), William, Jesse (died young), Jane (Kelly). Sometime as adults all of the children moved on to Ohio, Indiana & Illinois. Only Jane (Kelly) stayed in Pennsylvania. They were part of the move west after the Revolutionary War.
On 20 Sep 1802 in Dunkard twp, Greene County, PA Isaac married Sarah Jones, daughter of Morgan & Mary (Davis) Jones. Sarah was a 2d cousin. Note, During the war of 1812 Isaac served 2 months (Aug-Sep) in the Erie Light Infantry at Erie, PA.
For 30 years the couple stayed in Pennsylvania and had a family of 10 children, Morgan, Jane (Boys), Ruth (Remley), Eleanor (Hammers), Mary (Garrison), Hannah (Forbes), Enoch (died young), William, Daughter (died infant) & Sarah (Forbes).
In 1832 Isaac & his family moved from the hills of Greene Co, PA to the rich farm lands of Woodford Co, IL. The family came by steamer on the Ohio & Mississippi rivers to St Louis, then flatboat up the Mississippi and Illinois rivers to Lacon (then known as Columbus), where the landed on the 29th day of April.
All of Isaac & Sarah's living children & their children ultimately made the move to Woodford Co, Illinois.
The families acquired land, prospered and grew. Isaac, himself, bought over 2000 acres of land from the government.
The Buckingham cemetery where Isaac & Sarah are buried was a part of his original farm land. Today some of Buckingham descendants still live on some of the original land and are being buried in the Buckingham cemetery.
