In 1695 the family (both parents and 2 sons) left Radnorshire, Wales. They settle in Chester County, PA where the family owned various parcels of land.
Roger worked as a carpenter and lived in Nantmeal and London Brittain townships of Chester County.
After arriving in Pennsylvania Roger married. His wife's name was Mary, (last name unknown). The couple had 2 known children:
1. Eleanor b. 1700 - d. Sep 1759
She married Morgan Jones & had 9 children.
Much information is known about their descendants.
2. Lettis b. aft 1700 - d. bef Nov 1749
She married Thomas Morgan & also had 9 children.
Some information is only known about a few of these
children's descendants.
On 4 August 1725 the land for the London Tract Church & Cemetery was donated by Roger's brother John. Many Evans were members of this church and are buried here.
Note the London Tract Church was established by members of the Welsh Tract Baptist Church in Newark, Delaware. The Evans family was prominent in the early membership of this church. Roger's daughter Eleanor (Evans) Jones is buried there.
In 1930 the original London Tract Church closed when there were no longer any living members.
Added note, today a marker can not be found for Roger or his wife. A flood in 1800 carried away many tombstones and fires destroyed church records, including grave location specifics.
