The eldest child of Isaiah C. Jones and Dorothea Hinamon Jones. Born in Grand Prairie Township, Marion County Ohio in 1861. Following completion of coursework in the town of Marion Ohio, she graduated and obtained her teaching certificate, working in Wyandot County, Ohio. There she met Eli E. Bush, whom she married in 1882.

Mother of Edson, Grace, Roy, Metta, and Dorothy. Margaret contracted TB while caring for her Roy, she died in Marion, Ohio, in 1911.
