He was a Christian and was formally in the choir, teacher and in the bible study groups. He attended and graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City and Michigan State University. He had a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and retired from Black and Veatch Engineering Firm after 41 years of employment. A United States Army veteran of WWII, Gordon flew in B-17 Bombers during his service to his country from 1942-1946, before being honorably discharged. Gordon was formerly president of Raytown Lion's Club and belonged to Northeast, Sheffield and Masonic Lodge #642, in Columbia, MO, for 51 years. He was also a member of the Missouri Military Officers Association and Columbia Cosmopolitan Club. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy: daughters, Nancy S. Martin-Sattarin, of Leawood, KS; Johanna Danahy, of Overland Park, KS; step-sons, Robert Neds, of Lee's Summit, MO and Tim Neds, of Columbia, MO; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great grand children; and many loving extended relatives and friends.
