GIBSON, John Charles -- Of Decherd, Tennessee, was hit by a train and died on Friday, November 7th, 2003. He was loved by so many, but did not realize it in time. John was an artist, a poet, a writer, a musician, an athlete, and profoundly in love with his wife, Danielle. John was born in San Jose, California, in 1968. Although John lived in many different States and abroad, John chose Tennessee as his home and was in the process of purchasing his and Danielle's dream property in the area. John is survived by his wife, Danielle Marie Gibson, his mother Patricia Ruth Heck, his father Frederick Windle Gibson, his stepmother Susan Patricia Gibson, his stepfather Kenneth Charles Heck, his grandmother Ruth Windle Gibson, his sister Theresa Ruth Rogers, his nephew Mason Scott Rogers, his niece Brianna Rose Rogers, his brother Frederick Clifford Gibson, his sister-in-law Daniela Gibson, his step-sister Cynthia Lynne Carpenter, his mother-in-law Patricia Ann Goubeaud, his father-in-law Peter William Goubeaud, his brothers-in-law Joshua Peter Goubeaud, Luke Goubeaud, and Ben Goubeaud, his aunts Gail Gibson Kowalski and Anne Gibson Chapin, his uncles Ken Croyden Kowalski, and Dayton Chapin, his cousins John Parke Gibson, Catherine Gibson Gregg, Scott Windle and Amy Miles Kowalski, Kathryn Anne and Mark Place, Kurtis Dayton and Carrie Chapin, Erik Allan and Jeri Chapin, and countless wonderful friends. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, at St. Luke's Chapel, Sewanee, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, one may contribute to the John Charles Gibson Memorial Fund for charitable purposes related to John's interests, Regions Bank, PO Box 250, Sewanee, TN 37375.
