Shot and killed in the line of duty while attempting to serve a narcotics warrant on an individual. Upon knocking, the suspect opened the door with a rifle in his hand. Immediately he fired the rifle and struck Off. Mickey killing him instantly. The suspect was also killed by return gunfire from backup officers. Off. Mickey was awarded the department's medal of honor posthumously.
Off. Mickey had less than one year of service and left behind a wife and stepson.
