Judith and Samuel came to the United States in early 1893. Their son Daniel had been there for some time already and were homesteaders. Later that same year, son Matti and daughter Marija arrived in America. Daughter Agneta stayed in Finland.
At the time of her 1908 death due to "senility," Judith was the grandmother of Aina Judith Evonen and Jim, Yalmer, Helmi, and Andrew Riippa. Her husband apparently survived her.
