HARRISBURG - Mabel Joy Barter, 96, of 117 W. Poplar St., died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 1996 at her home
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg, with the Rev. Mike Davis officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barter was a homemaker.
She was a member of South America Baptist Church in Harrisburg.
She was born April 12, 1899, in Saline County, to Henry and Hannah (Dodds) Brothers.
She married J.D. barter, who preceded her in death Nov. 23, 1975.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, H. H. "Sam" and Virginia Barter and Jewell D. and Norma Barter, all of Harrisburg; two daughters, Hazel Thomas of Pana and Dorothy Vinyard of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Pearl Cotton of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild.
