Tommy Cartwright age 76 of Forney, TX, passed away January 22, 2013. He was born April 10, 1936 in University Park, TX, to Joe Lile & Wanda Ludie (Russell) Cartwright. Tommy proudly served his country in the United States Navy and graduated from Abilene Christian University. He retired from the Dallas Fire Department as Battalion Chief after 27 years of dedicated service. Tommy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Heath, TX. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years: Barbara Ann (Batton) Cartwright of Kaufman County, TX; children: Shawna Ward & husband Greg of Heath, TX, Tom Cartwright & wife Margaret of Phoenix, AZ, and Kim Cartwright Cubillos & husband Paul of Irvine, CA; and five grandchildren. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Margaret Moore; brother: Bill Cartwright, and nieces: Connie Morris and Charlotte Davis. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Thursday, January 24, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, 140 Smirl Dr, Heath, TX, with Pastor Dean Libby and Chaplain Denny Burris officiating. Interment will take place in Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana, TX. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
