The condition of Fire Captain Samuel Douglas, 42 years old, Engine Company No. 1, who was gravely injured in a fall at 2 o'clock Thursday morning, was reported unchanged at an early hour this Friday morning at St. Paul Sanitarium.
Captain Douglas received a fractured skull and broken neck when he fell from a window on the second floor of the station, McKinney Avenue and Leonard Street. Physicians hold little hope for his recovery.
Although no one witnessed the accident, it is believed he lost his balance and fell while undressing.
