The Royal Irish Fusiliers.
3rd Battalion.
Cause of Death: Consumption, at Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross.
Address: 9, Brabazon Row, Dublin.
Occupation: Soldier.
He was a single man.
Note:
The CWGC website records him as a son of Mrs. Bridget Casey, of 9, Brabazon Row, Dublin.
In the 1911 census, Bridget Casey of 9, Brabazon Row, was the wife of Michael Casey, a 54 year old General Labourer.
They had been married for 10 years and Bridget Casey had given birth to 2 children, both of whom were living.
Michael Casey was the father of a 19 year old daughter, who lived with him.
Also living with them were 3 of Bridget Minnock Casey's children by her previous marriage.
It seems likely that Sergeant Casey was a son of Michael Casey by his first marriage, and that Bridget was not his mother, but was actually his step-mother.
His name is recorded on the
Glasnevin Cemetery War Memorial
