John Allingham of Garrynagry, Kilmailley, Ennis, Co. Clare, a Constable in the R.I.C., son of Thomas Allingham, a Farmer, married Sarah Martin of 55 Waterloo Road, Dublin, daughter of John Martin, a Saddler, on 13 February 1888, at St. Stephen's Church, Dublin.

in the 1901 census, the Allingham family were living at Flag Road, Milltown Malbay, Co. Clare.
present were,
John Allingham, aged 39, a Sergeant in the Royal Irish Constabulary. He had been born in Co. Leitrim.
Sarah Allingham, his wife, aged 36, born in the City of Dublin.
The children present were,
Robert C., son, aged 11.
Annie E., daughter, aged 10.
Dorinda Jane, daughter, aged 9.
Evelyn May, daughter, aged 8.
Edward V., son, aged 3.
all of the children had been born in Co. Clare.
