PFC James Hilliard Braswell, Vietnam Veteran and native of Stoney Creek, Nash County, NC.

Private First Class James Hilliard Braswell was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service, PFC Braswell served our country until November 21st, 1969 in Long An, South Vietnam. He was 20 years old and was not married. It was reported that James died from friendly small arms fire. His body was recovered. James was born on February 20th, 1949 in Stoney Creek, Nash County, NC. PFC Braswell is on panel 16W, line 104 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.

He is the Son of Mr Lonnie Braswell and Mrs Beaulah Braswell of Route 3, Box 448, Rocky Mount 27801, NC

PFC James Hilliard Braswell served as a Private First Class with Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 60th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division, "Old Reliables", USARV.

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Purple Heart Medal for his Combat Wounds, The National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal and The Vietnamese Gallantry Cross Unit Citation.
