***** You live in my heart everyday, Buddy.

***** I can always recall that your face reflected a happy guy with eyes that smiled along with your lips. You were older, funny, easy on the eyes and this younger girl admired you. I was not present when you were laid to rest but that did not dim my respect for you in any manner. You were the first person close to my age that died in that war. It suddenly all became so real, so personal that this country was at war and we could lose the brightest, the best, the very people that could have meant so much to our future. Thank you for your service. My children have been shown your photo in my yearbooks and I wear your bracelet on my wrist. You were first class all the way, everyday and that is how I shall remember you.
