***** Dean, some of my earliest memories are of going to the farm to see Uncle Butch and Aunt Carol. My dad kept his horses there and I can remember the great Sunday dinners Aunt Carol always made, and although I was only 5-6 years old, I can still recall 6-7 of us sitting around the table eating. I'll never forget the night I heard of your death, as I walked into the kitchen with my ice skates on, I noticed my mom was crying. As an eleven yr. old, this brought the war home to me. It took me a long time to fully realize that we would no longer see your smiling, handsome face. I didn't know you long, but the memories are as real as if it were yesterday. God Bless you Dean.

***** Dean: I did not, know you. As a young Dr., in Rogers City, in 1970, the Sheriff asked me to go to your home on a hill in Hawks, MI.. while they delivered this sad message, that you'd been killed in Service. I was unprepared. Your parents were Dad, with a "wall-eye" was slowly weeping. Your Mom solid as any German Frau could ever be, held the fort. These poor farm folks paid a terrible price with the dignity of their ancestors. They carried on and I cared for them for many years. They were proud of you and you should be proud of them. Of such stock, is our country made. Meg'wetch.

This is because the Coffelt KIA Database says that PFC Borrousch's unit was B Company, 2nd Battalion, 60th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division. However, you should mention the time period. At that time, only the 3rd Brigade [6th/31st, 2nd/47th (Mech), 2nd/60th , and 5th/60th Inf. Battalions] of the 9th Inf. Div. was left in Vietnam. The 2nd/60th was stationed at Tan Tru which was about 35 Km. south-by-southwest of Saigon in the Mekong River Delta area of Vietnam.
