Nicholas was the son of William Bernasky and Mary Lacher. On 16 Jun 1914 he married Crescentia Ernst and they had one daughter, Marie. At the time of his death, he was a retired bookkeeper for the George Miller Coal Co. Nicholas died of myocardial failure at his home, 1423 E. Breckinridge Street, at the age of 77.
