Henry was the second of five children born to Julius Eschmann and Louisa Roeder. On 15 Oct 1890 he married Katharine Curran; the couple was childless. For many years Henry was a manufacturer of chewing gum and, at one point, was the president of the Best Gum Company. He was also involved in the Kiss-Me Gum Company of Louisville, KY. Henry died of pernicious anemia at his home, 3011 Lafayette Avenue, at the age of 58.
