Peter was the third of eight children born to John Buchheit and Elizabeth Von Bokern. On 28 Nov 1907 he married Eva Marie Brumleve and they had six children: Wilbert, Gervase, Eva, Raymond, Lucille, and Peter. Peter was a building contractor for 30 years. He died of cirrhosis of the liver at the age of 61.
