Son of William Henry Coleman and Selina Simkiss Coleman, of Perry Barr, Birmingham, England


He was a Radio Officer on board an armed Merchant Navy vessel, formerly a passenger ship, which was sunk in the North Atlantic, west of Bloody Foreland, Co. Donegal. His body was washed ashore in South-West Donegal, and was buried in Ballyshannon.

The Commander, 6 Officers and 49 Ratings died.
33 Officer and 330 Ratings survived.
