Member Dallas Fire Department Dallas Fire Rescue: 1959-1975
Dallas Texas.

Benny Grady Carroll killed in the line of duty on the morning of 9 Oct 1975. The Dallas Fire Rescue fireman was fighting a 3 Alarm fire at a East Dallas club, The Log Tavern 3710 Samuell Dallas Texas where he lost his life.

Lord, when they went to bed to rest that night,
And laid their bunkers out
I'm sure they had no fear or dread,
of things to come about.

For this was just another shift,
Another working day,
For them to do their loyal job and
Earn their humble pay.

These men are proud these men are brave,
They go when duty calls.
They will risk their lives at any time
When they feel they have a cause.

They had that cause at a blaze tonight,
Their last and final run.
And although it hurts us dearly, Lord,
We know, "Thy will be done"

So in closing of this prayer dear Lord,
I ask Thee one thing more.
"Protect these men in thy heavenly home,
Where fire will be no more."
